Out of convenience, I generally blog on Sundays, since it seems to be the day where I have the least to do and can easily fit in some blogger time. However, this past Sunday I was rather busy, thus no time to post.
The beginning of my day consisted of going in to work to run a birthday party. Sounds easy enough. Basically it is...if you're in shape. Rather than just cut and feed the kids some cake, I had to set up the gym and then show the kids what to do and take them around. Again, sounds easy enough. Except that I'm SOOOO out of shape. I'm moving mats and setting up circuits AND huffing and puffing. Seriously, that is not necessary. Between parties, I decided to swing on the rings. Smooth. All day Monday it hurt to lift my arms. I didn't even know those muscles could get sore! The parties went rather well and I think the kids enjoyed themselves, but for the next few days, any time I stood up, I was reminded of how out of shape I really am.
Gotta fix that.
*Note to self...get on that damn eliptical machine more often!
Needless to say, I was fairly exhausted when I got home. I mosied around the house for a while and then plopped myself down in the spare room to watch the tiny tv. And on came the Oscars Pre Show! Ohhhh! This is my SuperBowl. MyIndy 500. My WWE RAW Wrestling (yeah, I don't know).
After watching for about 5 minutes, I realized I had no one to dish to. Rob could care less if the dress that Jessica Beal was wearing was atrocious. In fact he would probably say she's hot anyway. So, I texted Em to see if she was watching. I quickly received a text back informing me she was and than I should sign on MSN so we could discuss and gossip through the show. Instantly, I grabbed my computer and while it was booting up, I also grabbed some chips and dip and a large glass of water and settle my arse in for a fabulous night.
We discussed the fashion, the hair, the couples, the movies and of course the surrounding celebrity gossip whilst the show went on. It was a blast! When we had a question about why Heath wasn't in the tribute video, Em Wikipedia'd that and found out he died a month before the show last year. When we were scared by Sofia Loren, Em checked out just how old she was. She also Wiki'd random other people and provided bits and pieces of trival knowledge throughout the show.
What a fun night. I enjoyed much of the actual show itself. The way in which previous winners presented some of the big awards was so creative. I couldn't imagine being some of those nominees and having some of the biggest names in the business telling you how awesome you are. Wow. And of course the fashion hits and misses. Beyonce, yuck. Anne Hathaway, gorgeous...oh, and will you be my friend.
If I could have lunch with any two stars, it would be Anne and Natalie Portman. I think we'd make an awesome trio.

Its Pouring
Well when it rains, it pours. I complained last entry that not much was happening in my life. I was somewhat bored. Well that seems to have changed. Not all for the good either.
Friday was such a big day, that I really don't remember much prior to it.
It technically started Thursday night and blew up Friday afternoon. To not divulge all the details, I will just say that a lot of money was stolen from work and I was the last one to have it in my hands. Obviously, I did not steal it, but someone did and we have no idea who did it. I spent Friday afternoon explaining it to my boss, other managers and the police. It was crazy. It makes me sick to my stomach because more than likely it was a coworker. Ugh. What a world. The boss made everyone attend an emergency meeting on Saturday and said if it was returned she wouldn't press charges...so hopefully it gets returned and it takes care of itself.
So, I finally get home Friday around 6:30pm and Rob and I were going to grab some food. Rob told me to come in first instead of just picking him up, so I walked up to the door and found a rose and a note.
Let me just state that Rob and I had previously been talking about how I was missing the "mushy" gene that most women have. I don't get overly emotional with him and I'm not a fan when others do either. When most women would say "oh thats sweet," I'd say "Seriously?" Not a fan of the cheese either. Show me you care, don't tell me in a lovey tone with puppy dog eyes. So anyway, normally I might have jokingly gagged at the rose, but I was intrigued to see what was ahead.
He had set up a scavenger hunt through the house. I had to follow flowers and notes throughout the house that eventually lead me out to the back shed. When I opened the shed, there were more flowers and a note stating this was the end and there wasn't anything under the blanket. I wasn't expecting anything, so I figured I got a lot of flowers. Rob laughed and said there was something there. I pulled off the blanket and was able to tell in the dim light that it was a jewelry armoire.
I have ALWAYS wanted one! I was so excited! Apparently, I'm not all out of the mush gene. Some of it showed up and I was able to fully appreciate the whole situation. After my shitty day, he made an effort (apparently two hours worth) and put in some thought and gave me a present that meant something to me. It was sweet. It was nice. I was impressed.
I have tons of stuff to fill it with. Some cheap play jewelry and some nice stuff. Now I want more to put in it! :) I started going through the various boxes and places where my jewelry had come to rest over the last couple moves. I was excited to get it all in one place and visible so I could use it. However, during some digging, I found some pieces that are best left hidden. Nothing too sentimental, just ugly and out of date. Guess its time to go through and donate some of that stuff! Too bad none of its gold...I could send it to Cash 4 Gold!

Is the washer running?
Yeah, I retracted. So what. I can do that as it is my own blog.
Yesterday I wrote a post about how its nice to have girl friends who are in the same place in life as you are. I went out with a single friend with no kids and its just a different atmosphere than when I go out with my married girl friends who have kids. I love them all dearly, just in different ways.
That was the basis of yesterdays post. Plus something thrown in there about a Sex in the City episode about "The Marrieds." Anyway, the post just left an icky taste in my mouth because I didn't feel it came out correctly.
So I erased it.
In other news...after writing yesterday, I had a small adventure.
Owning a home doesn't sound all that different from renting...until you actually own a home. You live in a home for years with your parents and maybe rent a house...hell even a one bedroom apartment. You've got living without Mom & Dad down. You slowly begin to realize all that small stuff you were sure you knew didn't seem to actually stick with you.
Yesterday, Rob went out to wash the back patio off. All the snow had melted and it was a fairly warm day, but our patio had many remnants of Ellie...who refuses to step foot in the snow. So Rob decided to spray off all the turds and proceeded to go outside and do what he said he was going to do. After about 10 minutes I realized the water sounded funny. It sounded like the washer was filling up.
But wait. I didn't start the washer!
I ran downstairs to investigate and found the pipe to the outside had split open and was showering the Christmas decoration and the rest of the back corner of the basement. So Rob and I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up and fixing the pipe. Thank goodness it was a fairly easy fix. And thank goodness his handy uncle lives so close!
Lesson learned: unhook the hose from the spout in the winter.
I vaguely remember hearing this piece of evidence, but apparently it did not stick. However, from now on, I will always make sure the hose is unhooked.
I was just complaining that nothing was happening in my life. I couldn't even drum up enough to write my update for the girls. Guess this was God's way of remedying that! Ha! Be careful of what you ask for!

All My Single Ladies
I am retracting this post. I just feel like I wasn't able to say what I meant clearly. Sorry.
